Review for Your Eyes

I thought it'd be fun to do a makeup review on two items I've recently purchased.

The first, is Too Faced Better Than False Lashes. I got it at sephora when I was in San Antonio a couple weeks ago. It comes with two tubes, one with the mascara that you use for step 1 & 3, and the smaller tube that you use for step 2. I didn't really read anything when I picked it up, except for the part that says "better than false lashes." So, I was quite surprised when I opened the little white tube because I thought it was going to be an extension mascara, but it is in fact nylon lash. When I first out it on my eyes I put way too much. If you try the product go easy on it at first because I got it in my eye and it hurt.

I think it does what it promises; your eyelashes will definitely look fuller almost as if you put on accent lashes, nothing too over the top. I only put it on my top lashes now because when I was putting it on the top and bottom my eyelashes would stick together when I would blink or close my eyes. Once, I thought my eye was stuck! When I put it on my bottom lashes I didn't use the nylon extension system, because I didn't want spider eyes!

I would recommend the mascara. I really like the mascara, especially when I'm not wearing much makeup and want to put some mascara on to brighten my face.

Last week, I got a eyebrow pencil I've been wanting to try by Sonia Kashuk. I got it at Target for around $8. The color is called Haze and it's a longwear twist able pencil. It is really easy to use and has a sharpener at the bottom of the pencil you can pull out and use. It doesn't fill in my brows as much as my brow brush and pressed powder does, but it does definitely give you a nice natural look and fills in the shallow parts of your eyebrows. I would completely recommend the eyebrow pencil!! I can't wait to try some more of Sonia Kashuk's makeup line at Target.

I currently work at Target and am not in anyway being compensated for reviewing products I buy at Target. These are my own opinions and I hope that you would like to try some of these products I review  now and in the future!

Firecracker Shrimp Tacos!

For the last couple of days I've been looking at different cooking magazines and different recipes because my husband and I used to cook all the time! We have gotten away from cooking since we got married, I graduated school, and got a full-time job. I've decided that there are no excuses not to cook like we used to!  So, tonight I made a version of firecracker shrimp tacos!

We bought 1 pound of raw detailed, de-veined shrimp at our local grocery store.  We also got a package of small 10 tortillas, a pre-chopped white onion (I like pre-chopped things, it makes life so much easier!), I also got a packaged of garlic that was de-cloved.  I had all the other ingredients already in my pantry and fridge.

Sriracha Aioli:

2/3 cups mayo
3 to 4 tablespoons sriracha
1/4 cup of onion
4 cloves of garlic (I saw different recipes that called for 1 or 2, but I like garlic and it wasn't too over powering)

I used my food processor to blend everything together nicely! I added salt and pepper to taste and some crushed red pepper. I poured it into a dish that I could easily dip the shrimp into. Side-note: I totally could have separated out the sauce to save some to use later, but I forgot and put the raw shrimp in all of the aioli.

After I got the shrimp covered in the aioli, I had some white cornmeal and panko in a bowl. I didn't measure it out, I just wanted to give it a little more texture. We fried them in olive oil (be careful, it pops). If you can't fit them all in the pan at once clean out the oil and get some fresh oil to finish frying them.  As I pulled them out I put them on some paper towel to get some grease off. That is basically all the recipe is!

I sautéed some cabbage, carrots, bell pepper, and mango to use instead of the usual lettuce and tomatoes that go in tacos! It was might tasty!

My husband, Brandon made some Mexican rice, but I've never known the recipe; I'll have to find out for everyone!
The tacos were so good tonight!  It would have been good to drizzle some extra aioli on the tacos or some fresh salsa!

Let me know if you have any questions or new ideas!
